Programme & Value Management
Coakley Construction worked closely with the client and design team to deliver a complex drainage outfall into a live balancing pond containing protected species.
The necessary approvals were successfully secured, allowing the works to proceed while maintaining the project programme and meeting the environmental requirements associated with the pond.
Key Challenges & Solutions
Extensive made ground was encountered during the drainage works, creating additional challenges around excavation stability, waste removal and installation efficiency.
Specialist trench support systems were used to minimise excavation widths, reduce the volume of excavated material and maintain a safe and efficient installation process. This approach allowed the drainage works to progress without adversely affecting the wider programme.
